ADVISORY: AnimeMUCK strives to be in compliance with all federal and state laws regarding the obtaining of personal information from minors. If you are under the age of 13, we are not able to give you a character on AnimeMUCK.


1. Log on to AnimeMUCK as a guest. Many of your questions about us are answerable through online help or our Guest Patrol staff.
   
   
2. Use the 'FIND' or the 'USERLIST' command with the name of the character you wish to be known as. Be sure to check for alternative spellings, since some people still don't agree on the spelling of their names.
   
   
3. Be sure you have a WORKING e-mail address. If you do not have one, try getting a public one at any of the many free email sites on the Web. The reason for the e-mail address, is to ensure that YOU can be contacted if you have failed to get online or be informed of where we may have gone. This is also to ensure security for your character. An invalid e-mail address will cause your automatic removal from the system.
   
   
4. Please do not share either your character password OR your account e-mail address with other people. Not only does it degrade the security of your character (and so many other things), but it violates our one player per character policy, which is in place to ensure that people will be given a chance to get names they wish to have.
   
   
5. DO NOT REQUEST CHARACTERS THROUGH THE GUEST CHARACTER! Verification is done by E-MAIL ONLY. Any character request done by this method will be AUTOMATICALLY IGNORED. This also goes for those of you who only have telnet access. Please look at Step 3 for info on getting a public e-mail account.

6. Get 3 references on AnimeMUCK... It is suggested you talk with people and get to know them. AnimeMUCK is a community here and it would be nice if you got to know a few people and give people an impression of yourself normally. We have had to make this a requirement and not a request, because some new players have been less than polite to our older users as well as newer ones and have really tested people's patience, sometimes even threatening people. You can get references by logging on as a Guest and talking with players on the MUCK. Let them get to know you and vouch for you. There is a reference program that the people on AnimeMUCK must use to reference you and only GP or HS people may give references. DO NOT HARASS THEM! Ask them politely for one AFTER talking with them.

2. Include the following information in the body of the email. Use this format or your registration request will be ignored.

   Aliases (On MUCKs or otherwise)
   3 References (People on AnimeMUCK who can vouch for you) (REQUIRED)
   E-mail address
   Character Name (One word names ONLY, but you may use underscores, i.e., Saotome_Ranma. Use the name you used as a guest.)
   Password (Also ONE WORD ONLY)

• References are needed so as to verify your good intent on the muck. Some of the newusers in the past have shown disregard to other players on the system. We ask for references of people who are willing to say you are a nice person and such, since we don't want people who is on here just to do what they want and to heck with everyone else.
  
  
• The Wizards reserve the right to deny your access to the MUCK if there is a sufficient reason to deny it. (This falls under the heading of other players requesting you NOT to be a player.)
  
  
• Also, this is NOT for a machine account, this is for this server on THIS port. Please REMEMBER that when you do get your character approved.
  
  
• New Feature: This info file can now be gotten by email. Simply send an email message to 'anime@animemuck.org' with a subject of 'send info'. Body or other headers are irrelevant, and will be assimilated by /dev/null. You'll receive the registration file by return email shortly.
